Swim upstream
Swimming upstream is a lot of work, but you earned your silver certificate at swimming lessons, and so are able to make steady progress.
You’re nearly there when you hear a roaring splashing sound from further upstream. Dozens of ratfolk are up ahead and are tipping huge barrels of filthy frothy water into the river! Oh no, it must be their monthly bath night in Rat-Town and they are all getting rid of their dirty bathwater!
The soapy brown bathwater forms into a big tsunami of grotty grunge and thunders downstream towards you. There’s no way you’re going to be able to swim against this, even with your silver swimming certificate! You prepare yourself to be swept helplessly down the river.
Suddenly a hand grasps the back of your t-shirt and pulls you out of the river. You look up to see a stranger smiling at you.
