Talk to Milly the Magician
Milly the Magician is standing in the playground practicing with her wand. You ask her if she’d like to go on a quest with you.
“I’d love to, but I’m too busy” Milly tells you, “I have an important wizard exam next week that I’m practicing for. I’m learning the anadrome spell at the moment – that’s when you turn something into what it is, but spelled backwards”.
She notices that you look very confused.
“Look, I’ll show you.”
Milly picks up a packet of gum and holds it out in front of her. “ANADROME!” she shouts, waving her wand in the air. With a tiny popping noise, the packet of gum magically turns into a big mug of hot chocolate.
“See! ‘Gum’ spelt backwards is ‘Mug’.” she explains. “Let’s try another one!”
Milly holds up a tin of spam from the school kitchens. “ANADROME!” She shouts, and with a pop the spam turns into a pile of maps.
You have an idea. You open up your backpack and give her a sandwich from your lunch box and ask her to cast the spell on it.
“OK, but I’m not sure what will happen. I’ve never heard of a ‘Hciwdnas’ before! But if you insist… ANADROME!”
And with a pop the sandwich turns into a model of a bus.
“It wasn’t just a sandwich” You tell her “It was a sub!”
You may not have been able to get Milly the Magician to come on the quest, but at least you’ve got a new model for Wizard Pebbledash! You can’t wait to give it to him.
